On June 7th, we hosted a birthday party for our one year old, Patrick. Let's face it, the party was more for us (to celebrate that we made it a year, and didn't royally screw him up) and our friends. Now, our friends have been at our house numerous times and it is what it is-you get what you see. We don't put on aires, we certainly are not fancy, and we are just your everyday full time working parents.
After anxiety on my part, we had a great day. Put aside the 103 degree heat (thanks to all who brought tents) we grilled out, had swimming for the kids, a pinata, and cookie cakes. I loved watching everyone just love our son, for the special little boy he is.
